Demonstrating how to make dessert crepes for a group of undergraduates at Yale.

While earning my graduate degree in cognitive psychology at Yale, I sold desserts every other week at the Blue Dog Cafe in the Hall of Graduate Studies, and also ran both an apple pie and a brownie baking contest for other graduate students, as well as a crepe demonstration for undergradutates who live at Pierson College (see above). After completing my degree at Yale, I worked for a few months as an assistant pastry chef at Radius restaurant, where I learned all kinds of tricks of the trade. I continue to bake for friends and family on occasions and non-occasions!

I have been baking all sorts of cakes and pies for birthdays of coworkers, friends, and family since I graduated from college in 2001 (you may notice inscriptions on some of the cakes). Although I have always had an interest in baking, happily volunteering to help my Mom prepare cakes and cookies for holidays (see below), my first true unassisted creation-- the Chocolate Cherry Delight Cake-- was produced in the summer of that year, and Jennifer's Bakery was born.
